Denim Jacket Trend

It’s april now and this is the perfect season to wear the denim jacket!

This item remind me of the 80’s and 90’s!

I remember when I was a teenager… me and all my friends wore jean jacket.

To be honest, I haven’t wore it since my high school’s year but now I’m hunting for a nice denim jacket!

I like this trend, this kind of jacket is easy to wear with most things.

Now in London there are sunny days and if you have a look around the streets, you can see many girls wearing this garment.

Below there are my favorite denim jackets that you can easily find in London:

Tulle Skirt Trend

Shopping Alert: Tulle skirt for this Spring!

All the fashion addicted remember the Carrie Bradshaw’s iconic tulle ballerina dress in Sex and The City

The news is that the tulle skirt is back and it is a must-have in the spring wardrobe!

It’s not necessary to be a prima ballerina to wear it, of course!

This trend is versatile and you can wear it with everything, in ultra-feminine or casual version.

with heels and a eco-leather jacket like this:

In London you can find this type of item in Topshop:

Also in Camden Town there are many little markets that are selling vintage tulle skirts like these:

Pantone Color Of The Year

One month ago I went to Mode information in Eastgate Street.

It was very interesting too see many books, like Next Look, ColoRush, WeAr, Accessori, Showdetails, that influence designers.

But I had also the opportunity to know something about Pantone and the important role that it has worldwide.

Pantone is the global authority on color.

It inspiring artists, designers and stylists to color the world.

The Pantone color of the year 2014 is “Radiant Orchid 18-3224“.

The executive director of the Pantone Color Institute, Leatrice Eiseman, said about it: “Radiant Orchid reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination. An invitation to innovation, Radiant Orchid encourages expanded creativity and originality, which is increasingly valued in today’s society. An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, Radiant Orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm.”

I really enjoy looking on Pinterest some board about it.

Few days ago I went to the Burberry’s flagship situated in Regent Street. It is the biggest Burberry store in the world. It is designed to reflect its website.

The whole area is circular and has galleries where customers can look down at the middle of the shop panorama when they are at the first floor.

The floors reflects the “Burberry Pyramid”: “Brit”, “London” and “Prorsum”. Indeed, the store brings the digital world in the physical space.

The amazing surprise is when an item is selected to try on in one of the fitting rooms. Each garment has an RFID (Radio Frequency IDentification) tag inside, through which it appears on the mirror in the fitting room as the customer enters.

The customer can know the materials and the possible combinations with other Burberry items.

There are also several messages for the customers through screens, audiovisual experiences, live streaming of catwalks directly to flagship stores, streaming of shows in 3D technology.

Fast Fashion Stores in London

Today I’m going to discover with you some British fast fashion store and their trends.

Fast fashion means that the merchandise assortments are adapted to current and emerging trends as quickly as possible.

Fast fashion retailers include Topshop, French Connection, Oasis, Reiss, Accessorize and others.

This kind of chains are so fast, they can design, manufacture and get clothing onto store shelves in a month.

Customers can now easily see the latest fashions online and have become conditioned to expect a constant stream of trendy new styles from retailers.

Fast fashion has become a mainstream strategy of fashion retailers and it works very well.

I have to admit that I like this kind of shops. The fashion system is fast and I’m not a “fashion victim” but I like to buy fashionable garments.

Now I’m going to show you my favorite current trends.

Portobello Road

Yesterday was a sunny Saturday and I decided to go to Portobello Road.

It is the world’s largest antiques market with over 1,000 dealers selling every kind of antique and collectible, a paradise for the vintagelovers.

My favorite area is called “Fashion Market”. It’s possible to find second hand clothes and garments of young new designers.

You can discover  and buy very trendy items that nobody else has. Fur, jewellery, watches, hats, bags, scarves and clothes.

Along the street there is also some big brand shop like All Saints and Cath Kidston.

Portobello Road fashinates me also in another way. I’m Italian and I’ve seen this place as location of the movie “Notting Hill” with a beautiful Julia Roberts and a charming Hugh Grant.

The best tailor on Savile Row: Henry Poole & Co

Henry Poole colour logo(1)

One month ago I went with my class of “Fashion & Luxury Goods Management” to visit Henry Poole & Co shop in Savile Row.

It was an amazing experience get to know the employer and the whole staff of this store.

Henry Poole & Co is a family business now maintained by Simon Cundey, a gentilman who explained us very well the history of this brand.

We have also the opportunity to see the tailors working

Henry Poole2

There is a long bespoke process behind each garment.

The garment, in fact, is assigned to a particular highly skilled tailor where it is canvassed by hand and readied for the first fitting.

The tailor will stay with the client during their time as a Henry Poole customer, so giving consistency to the look and feel of all the client’s future garments.
