Fast Fashion Stores in London

Today I’m going to discover with you some British fast fashion store and their trends.

Fast fashion means that the merchandise assortments are adapted to current and emerging trends as quickly as possible.

Fast fashion retailers include Topshop, French Connection, Oasis, Reiss, Accessorize and others.

This kind of chains are so fast, they can design, manufacture and get clothing onto store shelves in a month.

Customers can now easily see the latest fashions online and have become conditioned to expect a constant stream of trendy new styles from retailers.

Fast fashion has become a mainstream strategy of fashion retailers and it works very well.

I have to admit that I like this kind of shops. The fashion system is fast and I’m not a “fashion victim” but I like to buy fashionable garments.

Now I’m going to show you my favorite current trends.

Portobello Road

Yesterday was a sunny Saturday and I decided to go to Portobello Road.

It is the world’s largest antiques market with over 1,000 dealers selling every kind of antique and collectible, a paradise for the vintagelovers.

My favorite area is called “Fashion Market”. It’s possible to find second hand clothes and garments of young new designers.

You can discover  and buy very trendy items that nobody else has. Fur, jewellery, watches, hats, bags, scarves and clothes.

Along the street there is also some big brand shop like All Saints and Cath Kidston.

Portobello Road fashinates me also in another way. I’m Italian and I’ve seen this place as location of the movie “Notting Hill” with a beautiful Julia Roberts and a charming Hugh Grant.

Amazing collection and amazing atmosphere into the shop! It is very sophisticated and original.

The price point is a bit too high but this brand is absolutely fabulous. Basically everything is lovely and desirable.

I think Anthropologie is my favorite department store in London, it is so inspiring, cozy and just wonderful!

The best tailor on Savile Row: Henry Poole & Co

Henry Poole colour logo(1)

One month ago I went with my class of “Fashion & Luxury Goods Management” to visit Henry Poole & Co shop in Savile Row.

It was an amazing experience get to know the employer and the whole staff of this store.

Henry Poole & Co is a family business now maintained by Simon Cundey, a gentilman who explained us very well the history of this brand.

We have also the opportunity to see the tailors working

Henry Poole2

There is a long bespoke process behind each garment.

The garment, in fact, is assigned to a particular highly skilled tailor where it is canvassed by hand and readied for the first fitting.

The tailor will stay with the client during their time as a Henry Poole customer, so giving consistency to the look and feel of all the client’s future garments.

Collaboration: Topshop for Adidas

Two brands that I like, together!

I’m talking about the first capsule collection launched last week (20/03/14) by Topshop for Adidas Originals.

When I’ve heard about this collaboration, I was excited and very curious to discover it. I live close to the Westfield Shopping Centre and, of course, it’s very easy for me to do some shopping before returning home. So, the same day I heard about this news, I went to Topshop  to see the collection. There are twenty pieces inspired by London landscapes.

I didn’t buy nothing yet but I’m thinking about this one

What do you think about it? Do you like it?

Anyway, I’ve liked the philosophy of this collaboration, the celebration of the greatness of fashion and sportswear.

How the Topshop creative director and Vogue contributing fashion editor Kate Phelan said: “We’re in a sportswear revolution at the moment. Fashion is really driven by what’s happening in the sportswear world, it’s at the top of the radar in the fashion stakes – so to have Adidas Originals as a starting point was fantastic.”

Liberty Large-logo

Liberty is the leading department store in Regent Street.

It is able to fuse fashion and the decorative arts completely and contemporaneously.

Liberty customers can find the best from the store’s iconic past beautifully recaptured like luxurious, contemporary Liberty collectibles – handbags, accessories, travel luggage, bed linens and tableware.

When I came into this department store, I cal feel relaxed in a magical atmosphere and I can discover something with a personal meaning.

Liberty is a very original shop and if you are a tourist you have to visit this store to breath the true London style.

I’m excited for the new collaboration “NIKE X LIBERTY” for Spring/Summer 2014 launched few days ago (on 7 of April).

“The new collection sees some of Nike’s most celebrated footwear and apparel styles transformed with an array of timeless Liberty London floral prints.”

Do you like this collaboration? Are you thinking about buy something?

H&M Conscious Collection at Westfield

Yesterday I was doing shopping in Stratford, at Westfield shopping centre.

It is very big, there are more than 300 shops and 70 restaurants.

The Westfield is a paradise for the fashion lovers!

I was looking for some spring and fresh garment, I saw the H&M window and I decided to have a look to the H&M Conscious Collection.

H&M Conscious is the name for all H&M’s work for a more sustainable fashion future.

H&M is a brand that run in a way that is economically, socially and environmentally sustainable.

The company wants to be the change in the world, making sustainable choices in the fashion industry.

Its commitment is about:

provide fashion for conscious customers;

choose and reward responsible partners;

be ethical;

be climate smart;

reduce, reuse, recycle;

use natural resources responsibly;

strengthen communities.

Below some piece from H&M Conscious Essentials Spring 2014 Collection:

All the pieces in this collection are made of sustainable materials and take inspiration from the movement and shapes of modern dance.

This line is made of Monocel, a new bamboo fiber that feels just like cotton, the stretch fabric is made of recycled polyester.

I really like this collection and its philosophy.

Cara Delavigne for Mulberry

There’s a new cool collaboration in the fashion system: Cara Delavigne, the famous British model, for Mulberry.

Mulberry is the English design company renowned worldwide for its craftsmanship and quality.

Mulberry discovered Cara’s passion for creating and designing and a new bag was created!

It is both elegant and practical, capturing Cara’s personality, her charisma, her cool.

The bag, available in three sizes, is functional. It’s possible use it in each occasion.

“Whatever it is that you do, this bag will come with you”, said the top-model.

Inside the bag, there is a small lion rivet and a heart shape patch based on Cara’s own heart tattoo.

To be honest, I prefer the classic Mulberry line.

What do you think about this collection?

Below you can see the whole line… Let me know!
